A Good Pair

Remember this candle pedestal that I got for 50 cents at a yard sale this past weekend?

I paired it with this cheese platter thing I found at Salvation Army (notice the nasty dust and oil all over the glass. Ew!):

With a few coats of glossy black paint and a little hot glue, I now have a really cool serving platter thing:
Not bad, not bad. Wouldn't fancy cupcakes or some gooey chocolate chip cookies look amazing displayed inside? Or maybe I'll use it to hold seasonal decorations of some sort. I don't know. Either way, I think I'm in love!

  1. Love it! It turned out sooo cute! I can just imagine some delicious cupcakes displayed... heaven!

  2. Wah-lah! Magic!!! You are so creative, Jennifer.

  3. I love your blog. You have such great ideas - and cheap (my favorite)! You could also put a cheese ball in there for a party.

  4. Very clever! I never see the potential in those kinds of items so I am always in awe of those of you who do. I think some chocolate truffles with a bit of pink icing would look great piled up in there!

  5. I'm thinking spring flowers or some yummy treats that you bring over to my house!

  6. Wow you are so talented, who would have thought. If you haven't forgotten us we would love to read you family blog. Just let us know if we get to at [email protected]

  7. I just found your blog, and I love your ideas! I saved the wooden base from two covered cheese dishes, I'm going to look for a base and glue and paint them, so clever! I'm going to follow you. Stop by and visit me sometime!

Hey readers! Leave me a note... I read each and every comment and I love to hear from you!
