Savory Cheese Rolls--- Super Bowl Food

Looking for a cheap and delicious recipe to try for this weekend's big game? How about some savory cheese rolls? My sister told me they make these at her high school, so I thought I'd give it a whirl and I'll tell you, they were really yummy. The cheese gets all crusty and cooked....ah, I'm drooling. Ready for the vague, kind-of-sketchy recipe? Here goes...

1 recipe roll dough
cheese, cheese cheese
garlic powder, onion powder, parsley

Make roll dough in bread machine or however you make roll dough (or I suppose you could use Rhodes, but you all know I have a thing against Rhodes.)

Roll it out into a big rectangle, just like you would for cinnamon rolls. Sprinkle with cheese. I used cheddar and mozzarella, but any cheese would be good. Sprinkle with onion/garlic/parsley, as little or as much as you'd like. I went light on the seasonings and heavy on the cheese (yeah, baby). Starting at the long end of the rectangle, roll tightly just like when you make cinnamon rolls. Cut into slices and raise for 20 minutes or so. Bake at 350 until golden brown and bubbly.

  1. Oh my goodness, they look like a must have.

  2. Mmmmmm . . . you could also do pesto instead of the other seasonings, with parmesan, provolone, or mozzarella cheese. That sounds SOOOOOO good! Forget the Super Bowl, I'm thinking dinner with Tomato or Chicken Noodle soup!

  3. Wow. Those look good. Here is my email I would love if we could look at your other blog.

  5. I couldn't find an email for you so...I was "tagged" by a blog reader and decided to partipate since she introduced me to so many fun blogs. I am passing on the favor (sorry??).

You can go to my blog to get the instructions.

It is easy and kind of fun and may introduce a few new people to your wonderful blog.

Hey readers! Leave me a note... I read each and every comment and I love to hear from you!
