A Little Dumpster Diving

So today I was on my way to pick my kids up from school and I saw a chair sitting by a dumpster. I am a huge fan of dumpster diving, and when something is only next to the dumpster, even better! It's not even technically dumpster diving then, right? No diving involved.

I went to investigate...

It was clean and looked good.

It was a little rickety, but nothing a screwdriver couldn't fix.

It passed the sniff test... any animal or cigarette smells and I walk away.

The only problem was that it wouldn't fit into my car.

So I got creative. Where there's a will, there's a way, my friends. I found a Moby Wrap in my trunk and used it as a tie down. Oh yes I did.

Bet you've never seen a Moby Wrap used like that. Ha! Just chanelling my inner-redneck. I laughed the whole drive home. And then I took a picture to broadcast my crazy all over the internet. Yep.

But seriously, now. Isn't it a cute chair?

Free chair, free chair. La la la la la!

  1. Awesome. Glad you had the wrap. No one should have passed up that chair. I have an overstuffed rocking chair that needed help getting into my Taurus. Good thing I was close to home. No rope or wrap available. Good luck refinishing. I can't wait to see it.

    1. I don't even know if I'm going to reupholster it. It's kind of pretty as is. But it would be really cute with a fun, modern print. Hmmm... decisions, decisions!

  2. I LOVE to dumpster diving... and better yet, when there is NO diving involved!!!
    Great looking chair!!

    1. My thoughts exactly! Thanks for stopping by, Tassie!
