Did you see pics of my fabric armoire? I'm crushing so hard on it:
Today I'm going to show you how I folded all that fabric so neatly.
When I was a teenager, I worked at a clothing store in the mall. We had giant stacks of t-shirts that had to be folded precisely. We would wrap the shirt around a clipboard, fold it, then slide the clipboard out. It made the most perfect stacks of t-shirts! We also had to finger-space all of the hanging clothes. Each hanger had to be two fingers away from the ones on either side of it. Crazy, huh?!
Anyway, I used the same principle of clipboard folding for my fabric. I cut a piece of cardboard to the desired width and the maximum depth that would fit in my armoire. I figured it didn't really matter how far back the fabric went as long as they were all the same width in the front. Make sense?
I folded the fabric long and skinny (most fabric had to be folded into thirds to end up the right depth), then wrapped it around the cardboard like this:
Then I carefully slipped it off the cardboard and stacked it in the closet. I'm not going to lie... it took hours to do all of this fabric. But doesn't it look so great? Totally worth it.
