Entryway Makeover Part 2: Decor

Last week I shared Part 1 of my entryway makeover. Here's a refresher of how this room started out:

Bland and boring! I wanted to add some drama, so I painted the space a rich, sophisticated navy blue.

The paint created the perfect blank space to decorate! I really wanted this room to look pulled together since it's the first impression of our home, but I was not willing to spend hundreds of dollars getting it to look great, so I hit up one of my go-to home decor stores, Big Lots!

If you've never shopped at Big Lots before, it's a treasure trove of reasonably priced home decor. Seriously, every time I go there, I find trendy decor for way less than other stores. Look at all these amazing mirrors!

Your jaw would drop if I told you the prices. SO affordable! I had the hardest time choosing between them. I wanted to bring them all home with me. Styles and assortment vary by store, so you'll have to stop by your local Big Lots to see what kinds of goodies they have!

Big Lots also has awesome furniture. I really wish I had a place for this red cabinet:

I also went completely gah-gah over their seasonal Fall decor. I mean, come one. Cuteness overload:

Marquee roosters and mercury glass pumpkins?! I die!

After a lot of agonizing decision making, I finally narrowed down all of those great choices and bought this fantastic gold sunburst mirror:

I also got this adorable ceramic fox. It lights up at night. I know, right?! I can't even.

My daughter and I just couldn't leave him at the store. Too stinkin' cute! And I'm in LOVE with the giant mason jar. It has the cutest label on it that says, "Farm Fresh."

I also bought three smaller sunburst mirrors to put between the slot windows. Can you see them reflecting in the big mirror?

So, do you want to see how I put it all together? The room looks so good! Check it out:

I already had the candlesticks and the lamp. They were the perfect additions to balance out my Big Lots scores.

You've got to see a night shot to show that cute fox and the electric candle in the mason jar all lit up:

Isn't it a cozy, inviting entryway? I am thrilled with how it turned out! It's quite the dramatic change:

I love how the gold, white and silver decor all pop against the navy background. And I really love that I got such great style for such a great price. Thanks, Big Lots! I'll be stopping in again very soon!

    1. This room is a square that sticks off the front of the house. There's a coat closet right next to this room near the stairs! I LOVE having all the coats/backpacks/shoes out of sight in that closet!

  3. My entire house needs a refresh, but more than anything, my husband needs to finish painting the downstairs. It's half painted and has been since May - NOT cute. #client
