Beaded Crochet Wrap Necklace Video Tutorial

Eek! I made my first video tutorial! Back in February I posted a free crochet pattern for a beaded wrap necklace. It's been super popular! I've had several requests for a video tutorial and I finally got all of the steps filmed and edited. Whew! Video is harder than I thought it would be! But I think it will really help you crochet this cute necklace with ease. Sometimes showing is so much easier than telling, am I right?

Here's the link to the original project:

First some pictures to show you just how cute the project is, then the video at the bottom of the post!

This fun free pattern will teach you to add beads to your crochet project!

If you have any questions about the pattern, let me know and I'll do my best to help!

  2. Awesome!!! Thanks so much for both the pattern and the video (you did a great job with the video!). A friend bought me a necklace just like yours, and though I knew it was crochet, I didn't look that closely. Now I see that it is exactly like yours. Guess what I'm making for Christmas presents this year!!!

    1. My sister bought a necklace like this and that's how I got the idea to make it! I'm glad you like the video... it was WAY out of my comfort zone, but I do think it helps explain the pattern.

  5. I have now made seven of these with only 7 sections instead of the 8, but have a questions. When you're done with round 2 and getting ready to start round 3, do you have to be careful to not twist the round or does it matter?

    1. Yes! Be VERY careful not to twist the round or it will get all messed up. Good catch. Glad you brought that up!

  6. You did a great job on your first video! Can you tell me where or how to find a needle that will be small enough for the size 6 bead, but large enough for the size 10 yarn? Not having much luck with that.

    1. I just dug through my stash of needles to find one that worked. You'll have to find a needle that works with the bead, then squish the yarn into the eye the best you can. Good luck Pamela!

  7. Love the necklace! You did a great job on the video. However, I have a question. Is there anyway to prevent the twisting of the necklace? I am very careful about making sure that I am not twisting when connecting the first round at the shell stitch. But there is a twist with each additional round that I add. Even more pronounced than the turquoise or purple one in your pictures. Can you suggest what I may be doing wrong?
