I finally got enough decent lighting to take some pictures of my downstairs Christmas decor, so I'm excited to share them with you today. Let's take a little holiday home tour, shall we?
This year I decided to step outside of my comfort zone and go with a nontraditional Christmas color scheme. I added pink and aqua to the traditional red and green and I love how it all turned out. It's so happy and whimsical!
This was our first year using a real Christmas tree. We drove up into the snowy mountains and cut one down. It's very misshapen and Charlie Brown, but I think it adds to the charm. We filled the tree with all of our special keepsake ornaments that we've collected over the years and it is my favorite.
I made the Merry Merry Christmas sign and you'll never guess what I used.
It's made out of a gift bag that I snagged at Walmart! This is actually the second sign I've made this way. Read the tutorial HERE.
Most of the ornaments and the garland are thrift store finds. I love thrift store decorating for Christmas so much that I wrote an entire post about it HERE.
The colorful pallet wood tree was also a DIY, but hint hint, I didn't have to build the actual wood part. Hurray! Details on the tree HERE.
You can see my upstairs Christmas decor in the first part of my Christmas home tour HERE.
This is the last blog post I hoped to post before Christmas. I went shopping today for all of the food we'll need for Christmas and Amazon is scheduled to deliver the last package today, so I think I'm just about ready for the big day and I'm feeling pretty good. How's it coming at your house? Are you ready for Christmas?
