Boppy and New Baby

I made the Boppy pillow and the baby. Let's just say the Boppy was a lot less work. :)

Quick Spit Rag

Just a quick little project. I had several white hand towels that I used as spit rags with my daugther. This time around I decided to make them a little more interesting. I just added some leftover fabric from a man's button down shirt to the bottom edge. I even left the buttons! These are the best spit rags...

Salt Water Taffy

I have always been intimidated by the thought of making homemade candy. It seems like a very technical endeavor...candy thermometers, specific temperatures and stirring times...I don't do well with details like that! But yesterday I was cleaning out the pantry and found a bottle of corn syrup. Since my hospital bag is packed, the house is clean and...

Hairbows

Ta-dah! Hairbows! Because I am expecting a baby literally any day now, I don't want to start any big projects (mostly because I don't want to have a messy craft table when my mom comes). So I decided to do a little project instead, and made some new hair bows for my daughter. There's a whole variety here. I...

Twins!

Tonight I'm going to a baby shower for a friend who just had twins--a boy and a girl. I made these little shoes for them. I just can't get over how sweet it is to have one set pink and one set blue. And if you think the shoes are sweet, the babies are even sweeter. Congratulations to...

Necktie Onesie

I've seen these little necktie onesies all over and today I finally got around to making one. It was super easy. I just fused the striped fabric to the onesie using Wonder Under and satin stitched around the edges. I think Little Brother will look so adorable wearing this!

Blackberry Jam

Today I picked blackberries and made freezer jam. I was able to get six pints and one quart of jam with enough berries left over to make blackberry cobbler and still have some berries left for breakfast tomorrow. And that doesn't even include all the berries my daughter and I ate while making the jam. Definitely a good...
After spending what felt like an eternity doing laundry yesterday, I have to post about my all-time favorite household product. OxiClean is simply the most miraculous product I've ever used. I do not say miracle lightly, either. With a stain-making champion three-year-old daughter, I've had a lot of nasty stains to get rid of and OxiClean has not...
A week or two ago, Today's Creative Blog did a feature on this blog: http://sycamorestirrings.blogspot.com/. She had the cutest idea to make lunchtime fun...muffin tin meals!!! So I decided to try it today with my three year old. This is a picture of my first try at it...hot dog, bread squares, cheese, frozen peas, sliced pickles, mini Ritz...
I've been sick of my bathroom for a long time. My husband is a student and we have been renting for the last five years. We've had the same bathroom stuff for five years too. I'd love to just go out and buy a new shower curtain, matching towels, rug, and accessories, but we're poor college students...I can't...
