Chocolate Chip Banana Bread Cookies
These delicious cookies are soft, chewy, and bursting with banana and chocolate flavor. This is the perfect recipe to use up overripe bananas.

- 3/4 cup margarine or butter
- 1 cup white sugar
- 1 egg
- 2.5 cups all-purpose flour (possibly more)
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 3/4 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 cup very ripe bananas, mashed (3 medium bananas)
- 1 3/4 cups quick oats
- 2 cups chocolate chips
Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
Cream butter or margarine in a stand mixer or with a hand mixer.
Add sugar and egg. Cream until smooth.
Combine dry ingredients together, then add them to the butter mixture.
Mix in mashed bananas until smooth. More flour may be added if the dough looks too wet.
Stir in oats and chocolate chips until evenly incorporated.
Scoop cookies onto a lined baking tray and bake for 10-12 minutes, or just until the cookies begin to firm up and get slightly golden.
