Awesome!!! Thanks so much for both the pattern and the video (you did a great job with the video!). A friend bought me a necklace just like yours, and though I knew it was crochet, I didn't look that closely. Now I see that it is exactly like yours. Guess what I'm making for Christmas presents this year!!!

My sister bought a necklace like this and that's how I got the idea to make it! I'm glad you like the video… it was WAY out of my comfort zone, but I do think it helps explain the pattern.

I have now made seven of these with only 7 sections instead of the 8, but have a questions. When you're done with round 2 and getting ready to start round 3, do you have to be careful to not twist the round or does it matter?
jennifer@thecraftpatchblog.com says
Yes! Be VERY careful not to twist the round or it will get all messed up. Good catch. Glad you brought that up!

You did a great job on your first video! Can you tell me where or how to find a needle that will be small enough for the size 6 bead, but large enough for the size 10 yarn? Not having much luck with that.
jennifer@thecraftpatchblog.com says
I just dug through my stash of needles to find one that worked. You'll have to find a needle that works with the bead, then squish the yarn into the eye the best you can. Good luck Pamela!

Love the necklace! You did a great job on the video. However, I have a question. Is there anyway to prevent the twisting of the necklace? I am very careful about making sure that I am not twisting when connecting the first round at the shell stitch. But there is a twist with each additional round that I add. Even more pronounced than the turquoise or purple one in your pictures. Can you suggest what I may be doing wrong?

About how long is the finished necklace?
jennifer@thecraftpatchblog.com says
I've given all the ones I made away as gifts so I can't measure, but if you wrap it once around so that there are two sections hanging in front, it hits mid-chest. Hopefully that makes sense.

I just finished round round. I see this is going to be a long necklace. After it is finished is it to be doubled to make it shorter ? Thanks
Jennifer says
Yes, when it’s finished you wrap it around your neck twice.
Marie says
Hello
I am on round two and can see the necklace is too long. When the five rows are completed are you supposed to double the strands to shorten them? I could restart and shorten the rows.
Jennifer says
You wrap the necklace around your neck twice, so yes… it seems too long, but once it’s wrapped, it’s the perfect length.

Hi.l,m just going to try and get sorted out and begin this beautyful neckless .
I do hope that l understand the instructions. I.ll let you know how it turns out.
Charlene Miller says
How do you end the last row and finish off?
Jennifer says
Just link them with a stitch and tie a knot.
