I'm always looking for cute and creative gift ideas and gift baskets are my favorite. Place any collection of items in a cute basket with some cellophane and you have an instantly classy gift. I gave this Idaho-themed gift basket to a fellow blogging friend at SNAP! conference last year and just now found the pictures and realized I never shared it with you!
I started by gathering different Idaho-themed items: Idahoan instant mashed potatoes, huckleberry candy made at a local candy shop, an Idaho Spud, a Yellowstone Moose bar and some gummy pigs and sheep. That pretty much covers what Idaho is famous for right? Potatoes, huckleberries, Yellowstone and farming!
Here's a close-up of the gummy animals. I found them in the bulk bins at Winco and fell in love. Aren't they the cutest? I would love to use them to decorate a farm-themed birthday cake some day.
I made a custom tag that says, "From Idaho With Love." You could easily make a similar one and sub the state you live in.
Everything was placed in a burlap and wire farmhouse basket that I bought at Michaels. Could that be any more perfect for Idaho? It looks like a potato sack and was the perfect finishing touch.
Anyway, I think a state-themed basket is such a fun idea and would work for every state since each one is unique and has its own specialties.
What state do you live in and what would you put in your state themed gift basket?
