DIY Pumpkin Topiary

I love decorating for Fall. Today I’m sharing a step-by-step tutorial for creating this rustic farmhouse style pumpkin topiary that you can make in under an hour.
To make your DIY pumpkin topiary, you will need: (aff. links)

Craft Dowel
Craft Foam
Hot Glue

1. Begin by lightly staining or painting the wooden dowel (optional). Then insert the dowel into the bottom of the pumpkin, as close to the center as you can manage. Hot glue the dowel into place.
2. Cut the floral foam to size and place inside the metal planter. Add a bit of hot glue if it doesn’t stay snug on its own. Stick the dowel rod into the center of the foam and hot glue into place. If the topiary seems tipsy, add some rocks to the bottom of the planter to add weight and stability.

3. Cover the foam with a smooth layer of preserved sheet moss and glue if needed.

4. Make a burlap ribbon bow, add glue to the back of it and glue it onto the dowel right under the bottom edge of the pumpkin.

Now your topiary is done! This DIY project is the perfect Fall tabletop decor and would also be cute Fall wedding or party centerpieces. It would even be cute to add fairy lights inside the pumpkin!

I put my topiary on my entryway table. It looks perfectly at home surrounded by pumpkins and berries and Fall leaves.

Happy crafting!
